Nutley Summer Music Program

The Nutley Music Boosters are excited to once again present the Nutley Summer Music Program!

In partnership with the Nutley Public Schools, this summer enrichment program is designed for students entering Grades 3 through 12. Students can explore a wide variety of band and string instruments, along with vocal and piano instruction, through small group lessons tailored to individual skill levels.

We’re also excited to offer additional courses including a Musical Theatre Boot Camp, Jazz Combo, and Introduction to Color Guard.

For the 2026 session, we remain committed to building on the success of previous years by offering a well-structured program designed to help every student grow, learn, and reach their fullest potential!

GENERAL INFORMATION

• The Nutley Summer Music Program offers a fantastic opportunity for students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners, to enhance their musical abilities. Open to students entering third grade in the 2026-2027 school year (currently in second grade) through high school, the program features summer lessons in voice, orchestral string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass), and band instruments (brass, woodwind, and percussion).

• Grades for classes will be based on the grade the student will be entering in September 2026.

INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIALS

• All students are required to have an instrument before classes begin.

  • This does not apply to Drum Set or Advanced Percussion

• If you do not currently own/rent an instrument, please contact the following for more information:

  • Brass and Woodwind Instruments: Mr. DeWald - jdewald@nutleyschools.org

  • String Instruments: Ms. Nowik - enowik@nutleyschools.org

• Students enrolled in Beginning and Intermediate Percussion will need to provide a bell kit.

  • Purchase on Amazon

• All students should bring a pencil to each class.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

• All registrations must be completed online.

• There is no limit to the number of courses a student can register for.

• Payment types accepted include:

  • Credit/Debit Card, E-Check or Apple/Google Pay

    • There are no processing fees thanks to our payment platform, Zeffy!

    • During checkout please change optional “tip” to Other and enter $0.00

  • Student Fundraising Account (Grades 8-12)

• Registration Deadline is Friday, June 12, 2026

FEES

There are no family discounts; each student is registered individually.

You can register for as many courses as desired.

• Administrative Fee: $25 per student

• Instrumental or Voice Lesson(s):    $125 each

• Musical Theatre or Jazz Combo:     $150 each

LOCATION AND DATES

• Classes will be held July 20 - 31, 2026 at Nutley High School.

  • The designated drop-off/pick-up door is the Music Wing doors, located off Franklin Avenue to the right of the flagpole.

  • Please note that childcare will not be provided, and parents/guardians may not remain on-site. Please plan accordingly, particularly if there is a gap between class times.

• Students will receive a total of 5 hours of instruction per course.

  • Class meeting dates are marked by an "X" on the schedule.

• Makeup dates, if needed, will be arranged with the instructor but are not guaranteed.
