President

Salvatore Scarpelli

Salvatore Scarpelli is a lifelong resident of Nutley and a proud 2004 graduate of Nutley High School, where he was an active member of its music program. He pursued higher education at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a Minor in Music. Currently, Salvatore works as a CompTIA A+ Certified Senior Computer Technician in the Township of Nutley’s Office of Information Technology. In addition, he holds a W-2 Water Distribution License from the NJDEP and serves as the Assistant Water Operator for the Township.

A passionate advocate for music education, Salvatore is serving his seventh term as President of the Nutley Music Boosters Association. His involvement with the organization began in 2005, and he has previously held roles as Corresponding and Recording Secretary. Beyond his contributions to music, Salvatore is deeply engaged in the community. He serves as a trustee of both the Greater Nutley Cancer Foundation and the Nutley Senior Manor, and serves on the advisory board of Eastwick College's Electronics and Technology Program. Additionally, he is an active member of the Scarpelli Civic Association, the Township’s Go Green Committee, and Co-Manager of the Nutley Farmers Market.

Salvatore’s dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including the Nutley Jaycees Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Young Man in 2017 and the Renaissance Man of the Year honor from the Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade Committee in 2019. Most notably, in 2022, he received the prestigious NJ State Governor’s Jefferson Award in Education for his work with the Nutley Music Boosters.

Salvatore is the son of Commissioner Dr. Joseph Scarpelli and Suzanne Scarpelli.
