About Nutley Music Boosters
Founded in 1967, the Nutley Music Boosters Association is dedicated to supporting the music programs of the Nutley Public Schools. We actively seek donations, financial support, and volunteers from individuals, businesses, and community organizations. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, our mission is to provide students with enriching musical education and opportunities that go beyond what the local schools can offer.
Nutley takes pride in being recognized as a “Top 100 Community for Music Education.” Our music programs provide an exceptional learning experience for over 700 students in grades 3-12 within the Nutley Public School District. We consistently receive high marks at marching and concert contests, and many of our talented student musicians earn prestigious positions in All-State, Region, and Area band, choir, and orchestra.
Our students have been fortunate to showcase their talents locally, nationally, and even internationally. They have performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, as well as in countries like Italy and Australia. Additionally, our students have had the privilege of performing at esteemed locations like the Country Music Hall of Fame, participating in numerous Music in the Parks competitions, collaborating with Disney musicians in California, and gracing the stage at Universal Studios in Florida. Notably, our NHS Raider Marching Band achieved the title of USBands NJ State Champions in 2019 and National Champions in 2022. Furthermore, our NHS Indoor Percussion Ensemble has been crowned USBands Division Champions in 2018, 2022, and 2023.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of fundraising does the organization do?
Nutley Music Boosters does a variety of fundraising throughout the year. Our biggest fundraisers have been our Tricky Trays and our annual Cafe Night. Membership input in developing even more creative fundraising ideas is always encouraged.
Is the organization just for Marching Band?
Absolutely not! Marching Band is the big focus in the Fall, but we support music activities all year long. We support the holiday, spring and elementary concerts, our annual Cafe Night, music department trips and other performances.
What are the benefits of membership?
For a mere $20 a year, you can be a member of what has been called "one of the most active parent groups in Nutley." Membership qualifies your son/daughter for 100% credit in all fundraising activities they participate in. It also qualifies your son/daughter to be eligible for any Music Booster supplemental activity. The exciting news for seniors, if they are members, they are eligible for scholarships awarded by the organization. You can be part of a great, and more importantly, a fun support team for our incredibly talented music students.
How do I get involved?
Our monthly meetings are held every other month (7:00pm) from September to June in the choir room at Nutley High School. All are welcomed to attend and members receive e-mail reminders. We also hold special meetings from time to time to discuss things like music trips, Marching Band Camp and other special events. We encourage parents of younger students to become involved in the organization. Having a student in the music program offers parents one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences they will ever share with their children. And sharing the experience is what Nutley Music Boosters is all about.
