Do's and Don'ts
Do's
Add a payment option when you sign up. You must add your bank account or credit card. The best option is to use your bank account for direct debit, if you use a credit card, raiseright will charge a processing fee.
Download the mobile app onto your phone. Once you enroll through the website, you will get information regarding the app. This will allow you to make easier real-time e-card purchases so you can earn money for your student account when you are at the store. Your e-card will show up in your wallet, you may need to refresh your screen, but it will show up there after purchase within a few seconds.
Pay close attention to the cards that you are purchasing. Make sure you are choosing the e-card option. If you purchase a physical card, the Coordinator cannot change it to an e-card. Raiseright is now charging a cancellation fee so once you purchase a card and your account is billed, it's yours. There may be a short window to cancel the transaction, but you will need to make that call yourself, the Coordinator cannot do this for you. Call the number 800-727-4715 during business hours - this # is readily available in the app and also in the email confirmation that you will receive.
Many of the cards have an option that are "ship to home" eligible using the mobile app only. If you are looking to purchase a physical card look for this option first. NMBA will post different dates throughout the year to submit bulk orders for physical cards (coming soon).
Remember to add your child's name in "student name" field when you sign up. Many members forget to do this and if the last name doesn't match up, the correct student may not receive credit in their student account.
Don'ts
Do not choose "Pay Coordinator Directly". Although this displays as an option, it's not the preferred option for the NMBA program. You would need to write a check to NMBA, deliver it to the Treasurer and we would need to wait for your check to clear before we approve your order.
Don't purchase cards unless you have enrolled your payment option in your account.
