- Performance Opportunities
Two (2) “scheduled” performances with a strong possibility for additional impromptu performance opportunities at various historic venues/locations throughout the tour.

- Costs
Student Double (2) Occupancy - $4,200 (per student)*
Chaperone Double (2) Occupancy - $4,200 (per chaperone)*
Chaperone Single (1) Occupancy - $4,475
Students are not permitted to register for single occupancy rooms.
Chaperones can register for a double OR single occupancy room.
- Additional Costs & Expenses
Our Group Travel Network Travel Agent has recommended that each student be prepared to bring between $300-$500 to cover the costs of meals at the airport, daily lunches and snacks while traveling as well as for souvenirs and any unforeseen expenses/circumstances.

Six (6) nights lodging in Innsbruck (2), Salzburg (2), and Vienna (2).

Six (6) breakfasts at the hotel.

Passports
All tour participants must have their passports in hand by December 1, 2024.
If you do not have a passport, you will NOT be attending the tour.
Student Eligibility, Expectations and Auditions
- Student Eligibility and Expectations
Students must be enrolled in a 2024-2025 core-curricular vocal ensemble in order to be eligible to audition for placement into this “select” touring chamber ensemble. The core-curricular vocal ensemble courses are as follows:
Treble Choir
Concert Choir
Chamber Singers Honors
If a student drops and/or is removed from a choral ensemble for any reason, they will be removed from the trip.
Students are required to maintain a favorable academic record, regular attendance, and adherence to disciplinary standards.
Students should have a high level of appreciation, love and passion for vocal performance and choral music.
- Auditions
Auditions for this tour comes with very specific expectations to ensure that the selected participants meet the musical and performance standards necessary to prepare for such an event.
The auditions will provide proper insight into the student’s level of vocal quality, technique, ensemble skills, preparation and professionalism.
The ensemble size will range from 32 to 36 students the focus will be ensuring that the choral ensemble is evenly balanced and can produce a high quality sound and represent the best our program has to offer.
- Audition Materials
Each student only be able to audition for one (1) voice part and must independently sing the following as part of the audition:
Scales (Diatonic, Chromatic)
Solo (Shenandoah)
Quartet (O Magnum Mysterium arr. Tomas Luis de Victoria)
Measures 1-39
Students will be provided with sheet music for the solo and quartet portion of the audition as well as practice tracks with the appropriate pitches and rhythms.

In-person auditions will be held on August 21, 22 and 23 in NHS Room 100 from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Video submissions will be due by 1:00pm on August 23 (via google drive link).

Chaperone Information
- Chaperone Eligibility
Before a parent can be considered for a chaperone slot for this tour, you must be:
Fingerprinted and approved by the Office of Student Protection (via the New Jersey Department of Education)
Approved by the Nutley Board of Education
Anticipated Chaperone Team Breakdown: Four (4) chaperones*
This is not a quick process. If you are not already fingerprinted and approved by the NJDOE and on the Nutley School District “approved” chaperone list, you are less likely to complete these steps by the time the registration window closes in September.

- Chaperone Selection
The chaperone selection process is based purely on the needs and requirements of each event and group at hand. Priority consideration will be given to parents that meet the following criteria:
Nutley Music Boosters Association Paid Member
Highly involved/engaged in music community events/activities
Previous chaperone experience
Health related certifications and/or qualifications (healthcare professionals)
New Jersey Department of Education and Nutley Board of Education “Approved”
